biography

Let me start from the beginning. I was born in the New York Metro Area. After a horrendous winter with much too much snow fall, the Hopf family with 5 month old Eric in tow, moved to the warm, burgeoning town of Orlando, Florida. Following my graduation from High School, I took a year off to work and then made the decision to join the US Air Force. In the service, Firefighter was the job description assigned to me. Upon leaving the USAF, I moved home to Orlando and started at the local community college in route to a degree in Psychology. During that time, I began to think of what I truly enjoyed doing. Memories of my first photography classes in high school were the fondest in my mind. After a year, the decision was made to change direction. Research into photography schools lead to a college just 45 min Northeast from Orlando. So that was that, and I moved to the small and sleepy vacation spot of Daytona Beach, FL. Upon receiving a photo degree in 2001, I moved to the NYC area to assist working photographers.

I have been working for the past 8 years assisting Christopher Lawrence, Paul Amato, Adriano Fagundes, JL Clark, Gary Wade, Mark Havriliak, Stephen Gross, Jo Lance, Jacob Getz, Hosea Johnson, and Melissa Scheetz. I am excited to be learning more and am ready to put my experiences to work helping you produce unique imagery.
